canasta gitops resolve

Resolve a gitops pull whose changes conflict with this host's

Synopsis

When canasta gitops pull cannot replay this host's commits on top of the remote's, it rolls back and names the conflicting files. Run canasta gitops resolve to replay the pull again and stop at the conflicts, with each file listed by what it needs.

Edit out the conflict markers in a text file. An encrypted file the git-crypt merge driver merged has ordinary markers too, and is committed encrypted. For a binary file, or an encrypted file the driver could not merge, keep one version whole with --keep local <file> (this host's) or --keep remote <file>.

--continue finishes the replay, stopping again if a later commit conflicts, and then applies the result as gitops pull does: it renders this host's files and reports whether a restart is needed. --abort goes back to where the pull started, with this host's commits intact.

While a pull is being resolved, commands that read or write the instance's configuration refuse to run.

--id -i Canasta instance ID * Both
--keep Keep one version of the named files whole: local (this host's) or remote. Both
--key Compose only. Path on the controller (the machine running canasta) to the git-crypt symmetric key, used to unlock the checkout if it is locked. Both
